Hailey Christie-Hoyle

Dramaturg

Hailey Christie-Hoyle is a queer dramaturg, director, choreographer, singer, dancer, actor and musician from Revelstoke, BC. She wants to push the boundaries of Canadian performance art through engaging with non-conventional methods of storytelling and immersive performance. Her goal is to create community through facilitating experiences which performers and audience members can share in together. She is particularly interested in employing performance art to assist in creating social change. Her current work is focused on facilitating interdisciplinary devised performance.

Hailey is a 2022 graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College with a specialization in direction and choreography. Recently she has been experimenting with creating outdoor performance and adapting live theatre to digital platforms. Such productions include Journey with the Wind (Ismailova Theatre of Dance), Galapagos (David Glass Ensemble/Flying Arrow Productions) and Seeking Everyday Magicians (Ismailova Theatre of Dance).
